A note on current fruiting conditions.
What Pacific Northwest seasonal shifts mean for fruiting timelines this time of year.
What's changing
Ambient humidity and temperature swings with the season, and that affects how forgiving a fruiting setup needs to be. Blocks that fruited reliably a month ago may need a bit more attention to fresh air exchange or misting frequency as conditions shift. None of this changes what's in the block -- it changes how much help the environment is giving it.
If your timelines are running longer than expected right now, that's usually the reason, not a sign anything's wrong.
Signs your setup needs adjusting
Pins that look dry, cracked, or stalled partway usually mean the air around them is too dry for the season -- humidity needs bumping up. Slow, leggy growth reaching toward one direction often means not enough fresh air exchange, especially once you've started tenting or bagging for humidity. Both are environment problems, not block problems, and both are fixable in minutes, not days.
Simple adjustments that help
Move the block away from heat vents, direct sun, or drafty windows -- those cause the biggest swings. In dry stretches, mist more often rather than more heavily. In humid stretches, crack the tent or bag a little wider for more air exchange rather than sealing it tighter. Small, frequent corrections beat one big change.
